16-19 1812 Great Lakes Sailor-Adventure Camp ^ TOP ^

Monday-Thursday - 9:00 am-12noon. Kids (8-10 years old)
Step back in time as we explore the life of an 1812 Great Lakes Sailor. Experience rich maritime traditions, which are still used to this day. Learn many skills needed by sailors. At the Museum campus.

Members: $90.      Non-members: $110.

16-19 Science Adventure Camp ^ TOP ^

Monday-Thursday - 1:00 pm-5:00 pm. Kids (8-10 yrs. old)
Experiments, weather instruments and competition make this a dynamic camp. Competition is set up using many different arenas of science, such as ecology, weather and water properties. A snack will be provided. At the Museum campus.

Members: $90.      Non-members: $110.

20 - 22 Family Boatbuilding ^ TOP ^

Gather friends and family to build an 11' Davis dinghy. Each family unit builds, launches and takes home a small boat. Communal launch and christening on Sunday. Tool list provided. Friday-Saturday - 9:00 am-5:00 pm, Sunday - 9:00 am-noon. Limit 4 family units. Padnos Boat Shed.

Tuition: $825    

31 Harbor Builders ^ TOP ^

9:00 am-12 noon. Kids (8-12). What does a city need to be a port? Students will explore South Haven, then use this knowledge to build a port city. At the Museum campus.

August 6 - 11 Lofting with Wyatt Lawrence ^ TOP ^

Learn this essential boatbuilder skill. Soon you will be able to understand tables of offsets, diagonals, futtocks lines for the wonderful tools they are in boatbuilding. Limit 10. In the Boat Shed. Monday-Saturday.

16 Family Adventure Camp ^ TOP ^

9:00 am-3:00 pm. (Children must be over the age of 6). Imagine how you and your family's ife would change if you boarded the Friends Good Will in the early 1800's. How did you obtain passage on the vessel? Where are you going? Why are you going by ship? What will you pack? How will you pack it? Will you leave anyone behind? Discover the answers as you learn about hte War of 1812! Sail on the Friends Good Will.
(Children must be accompanied by an adult.)

Sept 12,16,19,23,26,30 Introduction to Sailing ^ TOP ^

Learn to sail in 3 classroom sessions & 3 on the water labs with Capt. John Shaul. For the beginning sailor. Wednesdays, 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Padnos Boat Shed. Sundays, 9:00 am-noon. On Lake MIchigan aboard Mariposa. Limit 8.
