The Museum maintains a valuable collection of 19th and 20th century materials on maritime trades and industry in Michigan. These include, but are not limited to:
1. Articles of incorporation for shipping companies
2. Financial records for maritime businesses
3. Ship logbooks
4. Ship enrollment documents
5. Certification papers and licenses for ship’s officers and engineers
