Skilled instructors offer classes for the novice and professional alike on subjects ranging from wooden boatbuilding, to sailing, to kayaking, to the fundamentals of navigation. The Padnos Boat Shed is the only museum-sponsored facility of its kind on the U.S. side of the Great Lakes that offers maritime-related programs and services to the public. This building is the site of a variety of classes offered by WoodenBoat School of Brooklin, Maine. The Maritime Museum is the only venue of WoodenBoat School classes in the Great Lakes.
