November 17th

This Saturday Jim Spurr and Richard Edwards oiled all of the parrel beads and a few of the blocks and cleats. Ed Pratt repaired chaffed servings while Tim Mattson and Richard painted a second coat on the futtock and topmast shrouds. The good head sail hanks were separated from the broken ones and are now soaking in oil. We will need to replace about 30 this year, if you are interested in seeing how they are made we will be making some on December 15th as a demonstration to the public and selling them as Christmas ornaments. David has acquired two large pieces of oak and will be replacing the hounds, leftover oak will be used for making new blocks and replacing the cannon pivot.
Tim, Richard and I also took a few hours this afternoon to build a strong frame for the Frigate Birds winter cover. For those interested in following this project I will be starting a similar blog on the subject soon.

Jim;
I'd be happy to lend a hand with Frigate Bird in any way I can. Please keep me informed.
