Friends Good Will Work Sessions
The Friends Good Will Ship's Company is meeting on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays to complete the winter work projects.
Painting hatch covers. Tarring grommets. Rigging the Friends Good Will sail training model.
Living History Day
On September 10th the public took a step back in time and experienced historical reenactments and demonstrators from the early 19th century.
     
     
     
Evelyn S. Opening
On August 7, 2005, the Lake Michigan fishing tug, Evelyn S., opened for public boarding. Visitors can now board the vessel and experience life as a commercial fisherman.
The 50 foot long tug is on the Museum Campus. Visitors learn about Great Lakes fishing. Fishing gear and tools can be viewed .
The vessel is equipped with a 75 -- 90 HP three cylinder Kahlenberg engine. The tug was built in 1939 by Sturgeon Bay Boat Works. John Woollam provided a generous gift to make this exhibit possible.

Friends Good Will sailed to Port Elgin and Alpena
From June 26 through July 7, Friends Good Will sailed through the Straits of Mackinac to Port Elgin, Canada and Alpena, Michigan. This was her first trip as the Michigan Maritime Museum ambassador. Thanks to Marcia Flynn for the photos.
     
     
     
     
     
Annual Classic Boat Show
On July 9th, visitors enjoyed vintage boats in & out of the water, maritime exhibits, demonstrations, & Sea Scout Fish Boil.
     
Friends Good Will
Friends Good Will is now available for boarding, guided tours, passenger sails, sunset sails, and overnight adventures.

New Exhibit
On April 24th, the new exhibit "With Indomitable Spirit: The Great Lakes War of 1812" opened.
"The War of 1812: America's Least Understood Conflict" - program by John McGarry, Exec. Dir. Muskegon County Museum . Children area of exhibit, conveying the perspective of children from the early 1800s. The exhibit features everyday objects, clothing, and military items.
