September 2020 Education Programs

With so much up in the air this fall for families and educators, we want to do our part to help during these difficult times. We are making Wednesdays in September Education Day here at the MMM. All admissions are $5 on Wednesdays (Educators are always free with school ID) and we will have special programs aboard our on-water fleet every Wednesday after Labor Day. These programs are great for homeschool groups, family and friend groups, and small classrooms.

Friends Good Will Dockside Program

A 30-minute dockside educational tour aboard our replica tall ship Friends Good Will focused on the history of the boat and early Michigan history. Includes admission to the Museum and optional Museum scavenger hunt.

Date: Every Wednesday after Labor Day

Time: On the hour 10AM – 3PM

# of Participants: 6-30 people

Cost: $7 per person 

Lindy Lou Program

A 1-hour educational cruise aboard Lindy Lou with focus on the the history of the Black River and ecology. Includes admission to the Museum and optional Museum scavenger hunt.

Date: Every Wednesday after Labor Day

Time: 10:30AM, Noon, 1:30PM, 3:00PM

# of Participants: 2-6 people

Cost: $100 flat rate

MLB 36460 Program

A 30-minute excursion aboard USCG Motor Lifeboat 36460 onto Lake Michigan. The excursion includes information on the history and technology of 36460. Following the boat ride  is a 20-minute guided tour of the Museum’s Coast Guard exhibit. The interactive tour focuses on the design and technology of Coast Guard rescue boats over time.

Time: 10:15AM, 11:30AM, 1:00pm, 2:15PM

# of Participants: 2-6 people

Ages: 4+

Cost: $75 flat rate
